Balancing Your Energy

Balancing life energy has been a passion of mine for decades. The art and science of Yoga has given us the gift of naming and explaining Chakras—energy centers in and through the body which connect us to the universal energy. She is so delightful and does amazing work in energy healing. Energy for Life, and Soulful Couples, is honored to share her guest blog post, with a few of my revisions.

Balance your Energy with your Partner
Foster deeper loving connection and mutual support

Today a client come into my office wishing she could feel closer to her partner. With the busyness of both their days, she felt that at night, when they both returned home, they were too tired to connect. As a result, she worried that she and her partner were slowly disconnecting from one another.

Although she knew they both loved each other, she was feeling alone and left behind. She asked me to give her a quick exercise that could help them easily reawaken their deep love for each other and foster loving connection so she no longer felt alone.

After a week of doing this exercise, she came into my office renewed and excited about their future together. She said, “We both feel more connected to ourselves and to each other.”

I hope this exercise provides support for you as well!

It will take about 10 minutes to complete this practice. And, as it is repeated, you can extend the time as you wish. To support you even more with this, here is a free video on Chakra Balancing!

STEP 1: Begin the exercise sitting on the floor, with your back leaning against your partner’s back. Feel the support of your partner on your back. Imagine you can feel the emotion of support and open to feel the sensation of  touch against your back.

Pause in this position and take a moment to notice the support this person provides to you in your life – be it financial, emotional or logistical. Say kind words to give credit to the other and focus on what s/he is doing right.

This is a very important skill to exercise because, in energy work, what you focus on grows. And, as you give credit to what is working in your relationship, you can deepen the good of what is supporting you both.

Step 2: In unison, breathe through the back chakras – one at a time. Begin with the bottom chakra at the base of the spine and move upward. (See diagram). Let one guide the other through the chakras. Next time, take turns.

Step 3: Lie on your side toward each other so your front chakras face each other and can easily connect. (Note: Eventually you can do this as you sit in a chair or stand facing one another. Yet, for the first time, it might be easier to lie on your side, facing one another.)

Step 4: Each of the chakras has unique emotional gifts and vibrates as the colors of the rainbow. Those who can see colors report red is at the base of the spine, orange at the pelvis, yellow at the solar plexus, green in the heart space, blue at the throat, indigo at the third eye and lavender/white at the crown.

Breathe in, taking in the quality;  exhale out to send the quality to your partner. Honor your own commitment to each other, as you unfold in your potentials. Go all the way up to the crown chakra, aligning with wisdom and spiritual connection.

3rd Solar Plexus Knowing your place in the universe, personal power
4th Center & upper Chest and between shoulder blades Compassion, Love, Connection, Relationship
5th Neck – front and back Speaking truth, speaking up for yourself.

Having Authority

6th Forehead – back of head Inner seeing, vision
7th Crown Center Spiritual Connection -wisdom
