Meditation Basics

Meditation is an ancient practice, which has been foundational to spiritual connection in many cultures.  

Experiment with various ways to quiet your mind, relax your body and restore your soul. You may enjoy sitting, moving, or alternating between centering activity and stillness. When you combine your breathing with your mental, emotional and spiritual aspects, you can come back Home to your Self.

Washing Ritual for Purification

Stand over your sink or in the shower to use this brief meditation using water to purify and awaken yourself.

  • Rinse out the eyes three times and say : “ May I see clearly”

  • Rinse out the ears three times and say: “May I hear and listen clearly”

  • Rinse out the nostrils three times each and say: “May I breathe fully and may I enjoy the fragrances of life”

  • Rinse out the mouth and say: “May I speak truth and may my words support and heal”

  • Rinse each hand three times and say: “May my hands do good work and offer kindness and healing”

  • Rinse off each foot and say: “May I walk on my path and stay true to my life purpose”

Take a few deep breaths and go on with your day or into sleep.
